British Section students have a long history of attending the world’s most renowned institutions of higher education. Indeed, each year, roughly two-thirds of our graduates take up places at the UK’s leading universities, including Oxford and Cambridge. Moreover, since the Lycée is one of France’s most successful state schools, it is not surprising that the majority of those choosing to stay in France go on to study at the prestigious grandes écoles following preparatory studies at the region’s leading classes préparatoires. It is important to note that those who choose to study in the UK are not closing the doors to the French university system; many return to pursue further studies in France, often at a grande école. Our alumni also represent the Section at American Ivy League universities, including Harvard and Yale, as well as at Canada’s McGill.
